Types of Treatment
Here are some descriptions of possible treatments you may be receiving in your session.
- Acupuncture: Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves inserting very thin needles into specific points on the body.
- Electro-Acupuncture: Electro-acupuncture is similar to regular acupuncture, but it adds a small electrical current to the needles. The current is mild and helps stimulate the acupuncture points more effectively.
- Tui Na: Tui Na is a type of Chinese therapeutic body work. It uses techniques like kneading, rolling, and pressing on specific areas of the body to stimulate the flow of blood, improve circulation, and relieve pain.
- Gua Sha: Gua Sha involves scraping a smooth tool over the skin, usually on the back, neck, or limbs. The scraping helps improve blood flow and release muscle tension.
- Cupping: Cupping is another traditional Chinese therapy that involves placing special cups on the skin to create a vacuum or suction. The suction on the skin is used to relieve pain, improve circulation, and promote healing.
This techniques will not be viable for everyone or every condition, please ask your practitioner if you want more details.
